MODIFICATIONS, CONVERSIONS, HISTORY
Jan 06 - 134,000km. Fourth owner of a Victorian delivered 2500S. Now a 2.5PI replica. Standard 124hp PI engine rebuilt 30,000 miles ago with reground crank. 2.25 inch exhaust with thermo taped 3-2-1 extractors and single silencer. Oversize Australian spec PI radiator and electric fans. Gearbox overhauled and has J type o/d unit operating on 3rd and 4th. Lowered one inch on progressive wound springs. Front and rear sway bars. Koni shock absorbers. Bosch fuel pump. 195/65-14 non-sticky road tyres on 2500S mags which are yet to be polished. Power steering. Tinted windows. Airconditioning to recommission yet.

Jan 08 - 163,000 km. Blew the head gasket in mid 07 between #1 and #2 cylinders and upgraded to a more ambitious camshaft and shaved the head significantly to run only on 98 fuel. Retuned the metering unit with TR6 calibration springs and adjusting the mixture on the car including a small calculated tweak to reference ramp angle. Had the distributor remapped to TR6 mechanical advance curve. Goes considerably harder now in the range 4000 to 6000 revs, while not less powerful below 4000 than with the standard PI cam and good low end torque as well. Have had two attempts to get the gas to stay in the AC... more work to do there. Best lap at Eastern Creek so far 2:14.7 on non-sticky tyres.
