MODIFICATIONS, CONVERSIONS, HISTORY
Saved from a Scrapyard in Oxfordshire as a spares car, but currently undergoing a full rebuild.
When I got the car, it had had a pretty rough life by the looks of it. I would assume it has had a rear crunch at some point as there are creases in the rear wings. The previous owner had attempted to restore it by adding various new panels, before giving up, having stripped the complete car to bare metal.
When I got the car, I stored it in a mate's field for a couple of years, before finally moving it into a rented lock-up. It is now tucked away in my garage being rebuilt.
The lower 6 inches of the car are pretty rotten and I'm replacing both floorpans and sills, some of the heel board and a couple of patches on the bulkhead and both rear wings. Then once the bodywork is back into a reasonable shape, I'll be adding my own re-designed rear suspension, and bespoke windscreen arrangement. Then adding a couple of styling tweaks to the front and rear valences. Finally, I hope to add a modern alloy V6 and 5 speed gearbox. But before the V6 is added, I'll be running it with the 1300 four pot with twin Webers nailed to the side! I was assured by the Scrap man that the engine has been fully rebuilt, and after a quick look inside, I think it might have been breathed on a little, but we'll have to wait a see once the bodywork is done.
