THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD TO A PERSON IN MELBOURNE - HE DROVE IT BACK.
Balanced and blueprinted engine 1 1/2 inch SU's Extractors, Mild cam.
Overdrive on gearbox, gearshift button from a Triumph Stag
Double universal axles (Kit by SAH) Tite - a - Turn. This provides a suspension like the later Rotoflex
Roll bar with seat belts mounted to it.
Paddy Hopkirk rally seats
Fly-off handbrake
Bonnet from a Triumph GT6
Differential is from a Datsun 1800

This car was the first Spitfire sold in South Australia and was brought from England for the SA car show 1963. Purchased in 1975 by the second owner in Melbourne and restored that year. In 2005 the engine and drivetrain was overhauled approximately 20,000 klms ago. We purchased the car in March 2006 and drove it back from Melbourne to Townsville. We are the third owners.
