MODIFICATIONS, CONVERSIONS, HISTORY
The car was purchased in an unrestored state, which is to say it barely ran but was more or less intact with minimal rust.
The car was restored over a 3-1/2 year period, during which the engine was completely overhauled, the transmission was rebuilt and received a J-Type overdrive upgrade. The body was stripped to bare metal and resprayed in the original Mimosa yellow in basecoat plus clearcoat. The frame was stripped and painted in POR 15. The suspension, brakes, and steering were all rebuilt. The interior was completely replaced, with all work being done by the owner. Only the paint was jobbed out.
The engine has was modified to receive a 270 degree cam, 9.6:1 compression ratio, pocket ported head, 3 angle valve job, K&N filters, back cut intake valves and a lightened flywheel. The engine now ouputs an estimated 140 HP, vs 105 HP stock, and still idles smoothly with good mileage and torque.
