This car was delivered to me in San Diego on 7/8/05. It was originally from Columbia, SC. I am the second owner, with the original owner’s full explanation of the car’s history. It was stored for nearly 15 years and taken from storage ~ 2002. It is nearly all original. Only the interior carpet, dashboard and convertible top seem to be the exception. The paint (except LR qtrpnl & driver door) is original with the “normal” 30+ year door dings. All of the engine and most all of the other key major components appear to be all original. The left rear quarter panel had two small dents that I had repaired as well as the driver’s door had a respray due to scratches. I have repaired the horn, passing lights, muffler, hazard lights, back up lights, high beams, installed a rebuilt overdrive transmission, new clutch, pressure plate, new u-joints, shocks, front brake pads and new bushing for the front end. In Oct 2006, I moved to Richmond VA and brought the car with me. Seems to like the higher humidity of the east coast and is running great! Taking it to the VTR Rally in July 2007! See you there…

OD Replacement Completed

So in Feb 2006, I replaced the tranny with a rebuilt OD from Quantumechanics.com. Upon installation, the OD was intermittent, it leaked oil and the rear end started making a whining sound... overall, not a great installation. I later removed the OD and rear end and completed the following... replaced the part the TO bearing rides on, tightened all of the nuts on the OD, removed and repaired the rear end (broken washer dropped to the bottom, replaced, retightened gears... as good as new). Installed new OD switch (defective switch). Tonight I took it out for a ride.. sweet, it rides as good or better than ever before. John at Quantum was a prince, very professional and patient. Helped me through every step, and was always there to help... buy from him with confidence! Running better now than at anytime since I purchased it!
