This 1976 Triumph TR6, chassis number CF53669U, manufactured in February 1976, was purchased from Continental Cars Inc., 200 West Huntland Drive, Austin, Texas on August 14, 1976 by Jerry Ross of San Antonio, Texas.

This automobile remained in Texas until June 1987 when J. Ross sold the vehicle to Blair Cook of Augusta, Georgia. The vehicle was in B. Cook’s possession for the following three years until John LaGrua of Bohemia, New York purchased the car in March of 1990. He then had the vehicle transported to Long Island. John LaGrua kept ownership of the vehicle until August 1992. At this time, I purchased the automobile

Documentation:

This automobile has the original window sticker, odometer statement, owner’s manual, many of the original service repair orders from the selling dealer, as well as all the receipts documenting all restoration parts purchased and work performed by repair shops.

Restoration:

The following components were replaced and/or rebuilt with new parts:

Engine:

The complete engine was removed and built with the following special features: new Kent Cam Fast Street TH2, (.390 lift, 290 degree duration), twin Weber DVG 2 barrel carburetor’s, Quick-Trip exhaust headers, Stellite valves, Monza dual exhaust system, spin-on oil filter conversion, radiator, oversized pistons, (+0.030) block and head milled, crank reground, crank rods, etc. all balanced. All other internal engine parts components are new Original Standard.

Transmission & Differential:

The transmission, differential, and rear axles were removed. All assemblies were completely disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt. The axle shafts were also checked as required. New axle bearings were installed and all new U-joints were installed.

Electrical:

All exterior lighting has been rewired for proper operation. Hi-beam switch was rewired to enable hi-beam flash function to operate. Back-up lamps were rewired. Alternator and starter motor have been replaced with rebuilt Lucus units. All ignition wires, cap, rotor, etc. have been replaced.

Other Mechanical:

The front end was thoroughly checked and a new steering rack was installed. The gas tank was removed, boiled, and resealed. Front shocks were removed and rebuilt. Front calipers were replaced along with the brake lines.

Interior:

Complete interior, carpets and insulation were replaced. Seats were re-padded with new foam and new seat diaphragms were installed. The fiberboard transmission tunnel cover was replaced with the new style injection molded plastic and silicone caulked. A new polished Teak dashboard was installed, all gauges were disassembled, faces and glass were cleaned. All knobs, flasher switch, master had lamp switch, vinyl crash pads, ash tray, mirror, pedal pads, floor mats, power antenna, trunk carpeting and surround panels, boot cover, were placed with NOS parts.

Exterior:

All painted surfaces were stripped to bare metal. The doors, hood, trunk lid were removed. All body trim as was removed. All parts were cleaned prior to reassembly. Two spots of rust 1/4 inch in size were cut out and replaced with new metal. Body was wiped to remove all metal imperfections, then sealed prior to primer. Exterior was sanded between primer coats and again before paint and clear coats were applied. During the process it was evident that all body panels were original and vehicle had never been repaired. There was no sign of an accident. All seals, body gaskets were replaced. All road wheels were glass beaded and refinished with base and clear coat. New stainless steal trim rings were installed. Original Michelin X Red Line tires were installed.

Weather permitting, the car is driven as much as possible.
